Soil Erosion Due to Deforestation in Haiti

Soil Erosion in Haiti is being caused by mass deforestation, it is causing many problems from Residential Buildings issues – to increased mudslides and floods some of these issues include:

  1. Damage to building foundation (Better Universe and Citizens, n.d.)
  2. Accelerated floods and mudslides (Better Universe and Citizens, n.d.)
  3. Low agricultural efficiency (Better Universe and Citizens, n.d.)

The Low Agricultural Efficiency

From all the tree removing the hilly fields that people grew crops on had deteriorated and become unusable, people then struggled to support their community. Since then, people are making efforts to build and protect all farming fields. (Farmers in Haiti, n.d.).
