ByAnderson Jean
Title: Environmental conservationist
I chose Anderson Jean because in 2006 he volunteered to go with researchers to Haiti’s National Park studying plants and animals across Haiti. He now is an environmental conservationist. Anderson Jean received the 2022 Bright Award, Stanford’s top environmental prize.

I picked Anderson Jean because he was born in Haiti and has been working there for most of his life. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agroforestry and Environmental Sciences. He is committed to helping Haiti, “…My dream is to make people understand the biological richness of this country … and how we can make things better for Haiti,” said Jean. Anderson knows a lot about Haiti and the environment so he can help me understand the soil erosion and deforestation there.

My second person/group of people I chose to help me understand my ecological issue is:
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)
Some of the thing’s USAID focuses on is long-term agricultural development and promoting economic growth.
I chose this group of people because they help protect Haiti and conserve their resources. They also have given Haiti 56.5 million dollars for urgent needs. They have been working with Haiti for years and know much about the people and environmental issues going on, so I think this group has a good understanding of Haiti and can help me.
