Letter to Editor
ByDear Editor,
I believe that solar power should not be offered cheaply in Haiti to help local residents get energy. I think this because although Haiti needs solar energy lots of other places do too. If cheaper solar energy is offered to Haiti, then other places who need it should get it cheaper too, but then what is the point of making it expensive. I think instead of just giving Haiti cheap solar energy they can collect donations and raise money to make it cheaper for themselves. I also think solar power should not be offered cheaply to Haiti because of the mudslides and erosion. The solar panels would need to be placed in a safe spot where the mudslides that come down the mountains don’t affect them and damage them. I think if solar power for Haiti was the same amount as everyone else’s solar power then they would be more cautious of them. If we give Haiti cheap solar panels, they might abuse that and not care for them because we would give it to them cheaper again.
Sincerely, Autumn
